Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Locked Album (“the App”). The App is operated by Li Zhuang. Registered address: No. 158, Minxing North Second Road, Erxianqiao Street, Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan, People’s Republic of China. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Locked Album is a camera and an on-device encrypted album. Photos and videos you take or import are stored in an encrypted vault on that device. They are not uploaded. The vault is excluded from iCloud backup. Each device has its own vault. There is no cloud library.
This version does not include a subscription or any in-app purchase. It does not use Sign in with Apple.
2. Who may use the App
You must be able to form a binding contract where you live. The suggested age rating is 17+ because the vault can hold private photos and videos. The App is not directed to children under 13.
3. The vault passphrase
You must set a vault passphrase to create the vault. If you forget it, the photos and videos on that device cannot be opened. We cannot recover the passphrase, and email sign-in cannot recover it. Change the passphrase only while you still know the current one (Settings → Change passphrase).
Deleting the App, deleting the account, or signing out does not restore a forgotten passphrase.
4. Optional account
Email sign-in is optional. The camera, vault, import, and export work without an account.
If you sign in, the account is only an account. It does not sync photos, and it does not hold a copy of the vault. Signing out leaves the on-device vault in place. Deleting the account deletes the server-side account, sign-in codes, and sessions. It does not erase the vault. Erase the vault separately under Settings → Vault → Delete on-device vault.

5. Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Comply with the law that applies where you live and where you use the App;
- Use the App only for your own lawful photos and videos, and not to store or hide illegal content;
- Not use the App to infringe anyone else’s rights, or to interfere with the App or its account service;
- Keep the vault passphrase to yourself. Anyone who knows it can open the vault on that device.
6. Your content
You keep your rights in the photos and videos you put in the vault. Because those files stay on your device and are not uploaded, you do not grant us a licence to host, publish, or distribute them.
If you export a copy to the system photo library or share it with another app, that copy is outside this vault. What happens to it is then up to you and that other app.
7. Purchases
This version has no subscription and no in-app purchase. If a paid feature is offered later, it will be sold through Apple’s in-app purchase, and these Terms or an in-app notice will say so before you are charged.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be continuously available, uninterrupted, error-free, or fully suited to your needs;
- We do not warrant that you will be able to open the vault if you lose the passphrase, the device, or the local files;
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the App, including loss of photos or videos caused by a forgotten passphrase, device loss, or deletion of the vault;
- Our aggregate liability, to the extent permitted by law, is limited to the amounts you actually paid us for the App in the previous 12 months (or the lowest amount the law allows if you paid nothing).
Nothing in this section affects rights that cannot be excluded or limited for you as a consumer.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us and our affiliates, directors, and employees from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your breach of law, or your infringement of any third-party right, including by content you store in the vault.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms apply from the Last updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Terms. The current text is published at this URL.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling removes the app sandbox on that device, including the vault, and does not delete a server-side account. Signed-in users can delete the account under Settings → Account → Delete account. That deletion does not erase the on-device vault. If you cannot use the in-app flow, email the address in Section 13. We will handle a verifiable request within 30 days.
We may also limit, suspend, or terminate access to the account service if you seriously breach these Terms or applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
12. Governing law, disputes, and consumer rights
The formation, validity, interpretation, performance, and dispute resolution of these Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding conflict-of-law rules), except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
If a dispute arises from these Terms or the App, the parties should first try to resolve it amicably. If that fails, either party may submit the dispute to a people’s court with jurisdiction in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, or pursue another dispute-resolution method required by law.
Nothing in this governing-law and dispute section affects mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your place of residence.
